Beej Dushti (weakness or vitiation of beej – sperm or ovum)

In Ayurveda, Beej Dushti (weakness or vitiation of beej – sperm or ovum) occurs due to imbalance of Doshas, improper nourishment of Shukra/Artava Dhatu, and unhealthy lifestyle.

Ayurvedic Causes of Beej Weakness

1. Dosha Imbalance

– Vata: Causes degeneration, low count, poor motility
– Pitta: Leads to heat, inflammation, poor quality
– Kapha: Causes heaviness, blockage, sluggish function

2. Agnimandya (Weak Digestive Fire)

– Improper digestion → formation of Ama (toxins)
– Poor nourishment of Shukra/Artava dhatu

3. Dhatu Kshaya

– Inadequate formation of Shukra Dhatu due to weak Rasa–Rakta–Mamsa–Meda nourishment

4. Improper Diet (Ahara)

– Excessive spicy, junk, processed, stale food
– Alcohol, tobacco, excess caffeine
– Incompatible food combinations (Viruddha Ahara)

5. Unhealthy Lifestyle (Vihara)

– Excessive stress, anxiety, lack of sleep
– Overexertion or sedentary habits
– Night awakening (Ratri Jagarana)

6. Excessive Sexual Activity or Suppression

– Overindulgence or improper suppression of natural urges

7. Excessive Sexual Activity or Suppression

– Chronic stress, grief, fear, depression

8. Toxins & Environmental Factors

– Exposure to chemicals, radiation, pollution

9. Chronic Diseases

– Diabetes, obesity, thyroid disorders
– Recurrent infections of reproductive tract

10. Ageing & Genetic Factors

– Natural decline of Shukra dhatu with age
– Congenital beej dushti

Ayurveda emphasizes correcting Agni, detoxification (Panchakarma), Rasayana therapy, and proper Dinacharya to strengthen beej quality naturally.
